Cancellation of legal support

Care ends with the death of the person concerned. The termination of a supervision can also be suggested by the person being supervised or by the legal supervisor. If there is agreement between the supervisory court, the person being looked after and the supervisor, legal support can be terminated immediately. If no agreement can be reached between those involved, the supervisory court decides.

The court can also maintain the supervision against the wishes of the person concerned. As a rule, however, the court will obtain a medical opinion on this. The supervision courts are obliged to regularly review the need for supervision. The appointment of a supervisor is always based on a medical opinion for a certain period of time.

The need for care must be checked after 7 years at the latest.
